In the future, of course I would like to have a stable job related to Social Work, but the future is uncertain and having a plan b is always a good idea. My dream job is to have a clothing store with the idea of "thrifting", which means, used clothes, recycled and repaired by me, to find other owners who give new life to clothes ♽. I would like my store to be inside a truck (like a "fashion truck") to be able to transport it everywhere, do you think this sounds amazing?
I imagine it would be an ideal job, very calm and at my own pace since I would be my boss. I would also go to "showrooms" and join other businesses like mine to hold events.
The truth is that I already have a store, it's just that it's still online :( I've learned a lot about the necessary skills, the most important are social and communication skills because you have to achieve a "feeling" with customers so that they come back to buy and recommend my store to your friends:) You have to know about the organization of expenses, costs, time and space. And also about look for clothes, select them, repair them and photograph and model (very important! hahaha)
(These are some of the photos I took for my store💛)
Being a business there is no stable salary, but a profit that changes with the times, fashions, a lot of effort and innovation is necessary. In Chile, the concept of used clothes has become very fashionable (the planet thanks us!!!🌎), so the earnings and purchases are now very good :)
As you know, I am currently studying Social Work at university and, even if you think that this career and having a store are not related, well yes! :) For example, learning to communicate with people, establish relationships, investigate and analyze their behavior, reach agreements when selling, etc. It has been very useful to me.
I chose social work because since I was a child it has caught my attention to be able to collaborate with the great social problems, I believe that the impact of the textile industry on the planet, the ecological demands and the environmental activists are part of these :).
Hi Martina!! I find your store incredible and wonderful and even more that you want to continue with this in the future! Could I be your Nº1 buyer? hahaha
